Franklin D. Roosevelt (Brian Gemma)

The rise of growing extremism in much of Western Europe and Russia is a difficult situation that should be approached very carefully. I believe that the main reason for the growing extremism is Adolf Hitler. He rules over his people with large confidence and he uses an authoritarian regime. Adolf Hitler seems to be the clear choice as to who is behind this. As President of the United States, I must be extremely careful when approaching my decision and this topic. I believe that we should not involve ourselves with extremism and we should not lean towards either side. We do not want to get this extremist idea into the mind of our people. Also, we are involved in many other important tasks and we do not need to add another task onto our plate. This does not appear to be the most important task right now. Now, we must focus on the Japanese invasion of China. This is more important to the United States right now. We must support the allies.

  1. George Marshall: Sir, I must disagree with you on this topic. We may not need to invade Europe or promote a war right now, but we do need to be prepared for one. You said it yourself: "The rise of growing extremism in much of Western Europe and Russia is a difficult situation". It isn't a difficult situation simply because there is extremism in Europe, it is a difficult situation because of what often follows an increase in powerful dictators. War. We must be ready for this coming war. People like Adolf Hitler will never be satisfied. This will lead to conflict, and when that happens, we must be ready.

  2. Adolf Hitler: Good choice Franklin. Leave this one to those who are capable of dealing with it properly.

  3. American Woman Factor Worker: What about the Great Depression? Shouldn't we be dealing with the starving and unemployed people all across the country? Extremist ideas have already gotten into our heads, since democracy is proving to be completely ineffective in ending this depression. Something must be done to improve the state of our economy...

  4. (Eleanor Roosevelt) But what about the poor Jewish people Frank? Are we just going to let them be tortured and killed? This is what you are letting happen if you do not lend help. Please do the right thing and help them!
