Robert Owen

"All they talk about is money cause thats all they know." This quote is evident in nearly everything involving shifting jobs over seas. The act of stealing other resources from our fellow countries is an atrocious act in its self.  EVERYTHING we do is for money. I can guarantee that if we all just worked together we could end poverty. Just think, if everyone worked out of the good of their hearts for others we would have no problems. Imagine, you are a farmer who farms let's say potatoes, I could provide the community with every potato type food and I would be provided with everything I need to survive comfortably. If all humans could just be unselfish we would live in a world of paradise with no poverty and no talks about money or getting food on the table for your family. If we focus on creating this utopia instead of money the human race could reach this utopian state of mind.

Mr. Owen, I would like to clarify to you that "stealing" is more definitely the wrong term you should use for this amazing opportunity of helping the economy. Money is not everything, but it is very important. Money is what keeps us alive. By shifting jobs overseas, people can obtain jobs, earn increased wages, and create products quicker and cheaper. This will benefit everyone, from the entrepreneurs all the way to the working class. You give the analogy of the potato farmer and how if he is provided with everything he needs, then he will survive comfortably. How can you say this? A person may be provided with just food, water, and a shelter. That is pretty much all that a person NEEDS to survive. However, maybe for me, being comfortable is eating a 10-course meal everyday, while another person being "comfortable" will just be eating a 1-course meal per day. Both people can survive, but their levels of being comfortable are different. Therefore, one man will be jealous of the other, creating a society which will NOT be perfect, as you imagined. Maybe think over that, Mr. Owen.

  2. I understand where you are coming from on your view Mr. Robert Owens. You and I both believe sending jobs overseas would do nothing but send our economy into a depression. A country based on equal labor and fair wages, and going overseas just to take advantage of people for their cheap labor is 100% wrong. We need to keep the jobs in America where the country will prosper in many new industries. We must have everyone strive and we shouldn't look to almost steal from other countries of their cheap labor because we are too lazy as a whole to work ourselves. That is why I agree with you Mr. Owens!
