  1. My name is Jean-Jacques Rousseau. I was born on June 28, 1712 and I influenced the French revolution through political, sociological, and educational thought. I believe that all people in their natural state are pretty much good. Our innocence is corrupted by evils around our society which can mislead others. In 1762 I created my book called the Social Contract. It explains how I believe that the world has too many limitations upon the people's behaviors. At the same time controls are necessary but not something to take advantage of or to overuse. My faith is in general will or the best conscience of the people. The good of the people as a whole is above individual accolades. I died on July 2nd, 1778.

  2. Jean-Jaques Rousseau (Ian Macdonald)
I was born on June 28th, 1712, in Geneva. I grew up in a middle class family, and we were able to vote. My father and uncle practically disowned me as a teen, so I was forced to work on my own and support myself as a servant, tutor, and other jobs. Also, he wandered through Italy and France. I was one of the most influential figures in the enlightenment, and I have a quote "Man is born free, and everywhere he is in chains", as I tried to convey that we are all born free, yet there are so many restrictions against us. Individuals are born good, yet society corrupts us. Everyone is born 'tabula rasa' or 'clean slated' meaning there is nothing yet they have done wrong to be put against them. I also think that government should have limited controls and the good of the community should be placed above individual interests. In my later years, I suffered from severe withdrawal, and I suffered a hemorrhage on a morning walk at the age of 66 that led to my death.
