Liberty, Equality, Fraternity vs. Order, Security, and Efficiency- Danton (Meran Topalian)

To the eyes of my success and being the First President of the Committee of Public Safety, Order, Security, and Efficiency are the motto to my beliefs. Anyone would be foolish to think of Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity over Order, Security, and Efficiency. Let me repeat, as a leading figure of the French revolution and the First President of the Committee of Public Safety I believe in absolute power to be efficient in saving the revolution. Me as well as my eleven honorable members of the board prepared France for all-out war, issuing a mass levy that required all citizens to contribute to the war effort. This is the only smart and efficient way to enforce order and security for the country of France! I am also in charge of trials and executions! This is efficient to get rid of traitors to France. With all the turmoil this country is in all we need is a couple of traitors to revolt even more! We must not wedge into the ways of Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity only because without there being some type of strict order and efficiency no happiness with the people will ever be accomplished. History is doomed to repeat itself again if we don't run France under strict Order, Security, and Efficiency!

  1. (Voltaire) I understand what you are trying to say Monsieur Danton. The plain truth with this is that you cannot protect the unalienable rights given to man with this way of "ruling." The truth of the matter is that by enforcing order, security, and efficiency you will take away some human rights including the freedom of speech, thought and religion! There are many more to boot! I can understand though, that there must be some order but, this should be used to back up human rights, not solely on keep the "people in line."
