Order, Security, and Efficiency- Thomas Hobbes (Romina Garakani)

People these days are selfish, rude, impatient, cruel, mean, greedy.... They cannot stay calm for a minute. They are hungry for things that will benefit themselves and not others. They want things to be better just for themselves, but they don't understand that in order to receive better things for yourself, everyone needs to receive it as a whole too. People are just barbaric these days. I think that maybe even barbarians act better than them... HA! They need to be strictly controlled and under tight supervision. They are children dressed up as adults. I believe that if there isn't a strict government, then everyone would just fight non stop, kill each other, rob, and do many other unjust and cruel things to each other. Nothing would be in order. A powerful government could protect all these wrongdoings. I believe that a social contract would be best. A government ruled by the people would cause destruction to the country. We need a type of government that will keep everything in order and the country in security in an efficient way. The only solution to this problem is an absolute monarchy. An absolute monarchy can impose order and compel obedience.

This is very well said, but the problem with your idea is that there is no way to check and balance what the people inside your government are doing. Even if you see the common people as inferior, and like children, you must show mercy to these people (just as you would protect a young child from the harshness of the world) and somewhat protect them from a ruthless and tyrannical government. With the separation of powers, the government can still be powerful, but every part of it is in check. Hobbes, you must realize there can still be order without a powerful government that may instill fear amongst the citizens of the country.
