Montesquieu (Chris Wright)

Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity vs. Order, Security, and Efficiency? Obviously Order, Security, and Efficiency. If I didn't believe in this then I wouldn't have made the Legislative, Executive, and Judicial branches in the government to check and balance each other. My idea's of government are based on order, security, and efficiency which helps all governments run much easier. Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity may sound good at first but if you try to run a government like this then everything will be confused and chaotic. The beginning of the Revolution was started with the people wanting liberty, equality, and fraternity but as you can see no one was pleased with the old or new government. But when Napoleon came, he used order, security, and efficiency to conquer most of Europe. As you can see order, security, and efficiency are still the best to choice because like my idea of checks and balance it is around in the twenty first century in America, one of the most powerful countries of it's time. Don't get me wrong liberty, equality, and fraternity are important but it's as effective as order, security, and efficiency when it comes to government.

Obviously order, security, and efficiency? You couldn't be more wrong! Your creation of the three branches of government didn't resolve any of France's problems. Under your "genius idea" of the three branches of government women still don't have the same rights as men and isn't that important? How can there be efficiency when more than half of France's population doesn't have a say in anything? How is their security when the rights of women aren't protected? How can there be order when the women of France continue to fight for the rights they deserve? The key word missing from the slogan you support is equality. Without equality there will be no progress, there will be no peace. The old slogan of liberty, equality, and fraternity is what France must focus on. These values are the values that drive the revolution and what should drive the people. Government cannot acquire order, security, and efficiency without first achieving liberty, equality, and fraternity.

  2. Montesquieu, to be polite, your idea of a good government is outrageous! Order, security, and efficiency is unfair to the people and I doubt the system of liberty, equality, and fraternity will get "confused and chaotic. The people are what come first and order sounds like you are part of a dictatorship. The word liberty represents strong support of your country and doing what is best for the country is best for the people.
