Robespierre

So Haiti has freed itself. Wonderful! As the Revolution spreads, so does freedom. Of course, it is a disappointment that they freed themselves from us- a sign that France still has a long way to go- but the people are the most important. They even fought off Napoleon's fresh troops (and I never liked him anyway. A brilliant military man, but a touch erratic, in my opinion). Hah, these revolutionaries will teach us a thing or two.
I am not happy about their conduct, however. If they want to succeed as a nation, the classes must help one another. I can see the problems of race, class, and prejudice tearing them apart. Good luck to them, if they can pull themselves together, is what I say.
