Woman (Will Campbell)

Vive la France! Today was a triumph! Today, we stormed the prisons that contained our former oppressors and brought true justice down upon them! For many years were we taxed unfairly while they sat by throwing their lavish parties and gala banquets. For many years did we sit by starving as they hoarded all sorts of crops, leaving us to die! But we rose against them; we showed them who really runs this country: its people! For some time, we kept the priests and the lords locked up in prison, but somehow that cowardly king of ours and his hag of a wife managed to elude us, escaping to their oh-so-fancy palace of Versailles. At first, I thought nothing of it; let them live to spread our tale of liberty! But when they started to hoard our grain again, causing us to once again give up 80% or more of our wages on food alone, that was the last straw! We stormed their palace and dragged their fat fannies back to Paris, where they were added to the lot of them in prison. But it all still didn't seem right; were we doing the right thing? Of course not; they were all still living after committing such atrocities! So I, among the others that felt the same hunger pangs, and emptied their wallets just as much, stormed each and every prison that contained those selfish rats and put an end to each and every one of their miserable lives. It's funny; it was only a few years ago that we were calling our own lives miserable.
